Pedernales River

When my family was in town we tried to hit up Hamilton Pool.

But it had rained the day before on account of a hurricane that tore up the Gulf Coast and it was closed that day, something we learned only after driving out there. So instead we went here.


The Pedernales River. Last summer when I came here, all of those rocks were covered up with a rapidly moving water. Some friends and I brought a cooler of beer and just kind of sat in the middle of it, like a cool-watered jacuzzi. But last year it was raining all the time, and felt great. This year there's a drought and it's freakin hot.
